Hey guys! I have had so many of you ask for me to share the custom vanity we built for our wall mounted sink so here it is. If you have been following along on Instagram, you know the story of the sink. But, if you are new here, I'll share it. This was a free sink, from my parents garage, that quickly turned into a pretty pricey sink. We had to redo all of the plumbing for the drain which ended up costing a little (okay, maybe a lot) more than I had anticipated.
Initially I had planned on holding on to the sink until we built our forever home where it would find it's place in our laundry room. But you guys, it was just to beautiful to hide in storage until then. When I decided we would put it in our kids/guest bathroom I knew we would need some sort of counter space that's when I headed to Pinterest to find inspiration. I ended up finding this tutorial for a vanity that was basically perfect.
Obviously we tweaked it a little to make it our own and to make it fit our sink. We opted to leave the doors off so that you could see the drain pipe and instead of using plywood for the shelves we used all 1x6s. Our water and drain come in and go out through the floor and we really didn't want to have to move those which meant there were no studs in the wall behind where the sink was going to be. So this ended up working out perfectly, the sink is just resting on the top of the vanity. We also added the piece of wood that goes in front of the sink to help hold it in place.
We added this faucet to complete the sink and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out.!
